experimenting with podcasting

I'm experimenting with my first podcast, and I can see that there might be some interesting technical challenges with what I have in mind. I'm thinking particularly about NeoVox and having the students doing podcasts and perhaps vodcasts (aka vlogging), but I am also thinking about it as a mobile project. As such I'm experimenting right now with an iPod as a device for mobile recording, just of voice, nothing elaborate. Ultimately I'd like to see NeoVox with articles that included photos, audio, and text together. An iPod strikes me as a useful device for collecting media files.  We'll see.
